Causality works differently in Mundania than in
Faerie. In Mundania you may picture a sort of egg with a Black inside and a White shell. A potential event
starts out with a lot of different black potentials and very few white
probabilities. Over a period of time the probabilities get more and more
distinct and particular so the white probabilites grow, while the black
possibilities become less and less until there is only one and the event
actually occurs. Think of a quantum waveform collapsing and the cat is alive
aliv-o. In Faerie the egg starts out with just a little
Black inside and a humungous White shell. Over a period of time the black
potentials become more and more diverse and the white probabilities become less
and less distinct until there are no probabilities left, there is only
actuality, and the narrative is complete. The chapter is finished. The following three
have their possibility of Resolution brought into probability and potentiality
by Dorothy who is 10 Recursive
to Oz. She is recursive to them and brings them to completion. She came from
potential recursion in Kansas to actual recursion in Oz. Her presence in Oz and
desire to Return brings Oz back upon itself recursively. In effect her magic of
love causes Oz to become itself. First the Scarecrow. Formed like every other scarecrow in Oz but randomly unique, just like every other event in Faerie. Bit by bit he is painted and stuffed and his potential faculties become more and more, and eventually his is a complete person. Unlike any other scarecrow before or since. In effect he has a Black body of potentialities and a White mind of logic and reason. And he is concerned about his ability to think and reason. He is an exemplar of 8 White. On the other hand Nick starts out as a normal (!) woodman and by a process of Black causality being applied to his White actuality his white body becomes less and less actual and becomes a limited white shell of a man. He ends up with a White body of structure and a Black mind of love and tenderness. And he is concerned about his ability to love appropriately within the bounds of proper balance. He is an exemplar of 9 Black. And third there is the
Lion. The courageous King of Beasts. Who trembles in fear and attacks like a
berserker. His will to act is not overcome by his fear of consequences. He has
true courage but fails to recognize that he has true courage. He is an exemplar
of 5 Red. |
