Tarot part 2 Since the early 1800s many many people have
attempted to define a relationship between the 22 major trump Tarot and the 22
letters of the Alephbet. Mostly somehow matching 12 signs of the Zodiac, 7
planets and 4 elements. Unfortunately that adds up to 23. Various shifts were
taken, traditional meanings were adjusted and sometimes the order of the trumps
was changed. Kind of on the principle that if the theory doesn't fit the data,
then change the data to fit the theory. Some were worse than others. The
following is in the traditional order, with the traditional names and the
traditional meanings. Trump number 1 E Green Perception Juggler - Illusion Misdirection Potentials (( In the Tarots of the 1900s this card is mostly
titled "the Magician" so I think if one were making an Oz Tarot this
trump would especially fit a humbug magician, a juggler and ventriloquist,
so... The Wizard )) ---------------------------- Trump number 2 Ba Purple Internal
Reflection Nun - Internal self Wishes Beginnings (( 1900s Tarots often "High Priestess" or
some such. For an Oz Tarot then I think this would fit someone who was
determinative of the restoration of Oz to a fairyland, so... Dorothy, maybe Glinda )) Ba is a definition of the self. Some philosophers
have seen the Self as a thing. Some kind of indwelling reality that survives
death to go on to an afterlife or be reborn. Some have seen it as a process, so
that when the individual dies they are as if a flame, snuffed out, over with,
finito. Some have seen it as a relationship so that when death occurs the
relationship is over but could possibly be reconstructed but would then be a
mere imitation and not the original. Blavatsky's Ebionites have a different take. They
see the self as being the focus of Recursion, a kind of Virtual Recursion, formed by the interaction of
the three aspects of Recursion, that is Recursion, Causality and Structure. As
such, once formed it will never cease to be, but it only exists positively as
long as it has some kind of sensory input. Cut off all senses and it is
quiescent, as if it did not exist. Death for those whose senses are limited to
the 18 real senses. Voidness, Non-Beingness. Restore the senses and the person
is back in business. Same person, not an imitation. For the person who has
developed their virtual senses, death is something else entirely. |
