Theosophic Zodiac Below is
a map of the Theosophical Zodiac with the observer looking South which is at the Top. East
is to the Left and West is to the Right. To the rear is North. |

|
The sequence starts at the
Ram which is on the left just below the East mark. And then proceeds
counterclockwise on the Internal side of the Zodiac in the sequence of Internal
Evolution Ram Self
Moon Internal Reflection Bull Possessions Mercury Internal Control
- Ownership Twins Companions
Venus Internal Concerns Crab Parents
Mars Internal Conflict -
Protection Lion Children Jupiter Internal Rulership Virgin Health
Saturn Internal Limits And then continues on the
External side of the Zodiac in the sequence of External Causality which is the
order of the days of the week Scales Mates Moon
Monday External Reflection Scorpion Death
Mars Tuesday External Conflict Archer Ways/Means Mercury Wednesday External Control Goat Rulership Jupiter
Thursday External Rulership Waterbearer Friends Venus
Friday External Concerns Fish Prison Saturn
Saturday External Limits All of which fits very
snugly As opposed to the Zodiac
of Ptolemy which is the standard used today where the planets ascribed to the
signs and houses don't fit particularly at all. It goes Ram Self Mars Bull Possessions Venus Twins Companions Mercury Crab Parents Moon Lion Children Sun Virgin Health Mercury Scales Mates Venus Scorpion Death Mars Archer Ways/Means
Jupiter Goat Rulership Saturn Waterbearer Friends Saturn Fish Prison Jupiter Here the best fit is the
Scorpion which is coincidentally the same as the Theosophic Zodiac and the
worst fit is Waterbearer, Saturn having about nothing to do with Friends. Of the rest some sort of fit and some don't. Astrologers have recognized the poor fit for at least the last thousand years and have come up with some very ingenious explanations and adaptions. it looks like Blavatsky finally got it right. Her source was supposed to be the Ebionites who had this as part of their secret tradition. That does add a bit of credence for that. On the other hand it is obvious when pointed out, so she might have worked it out for herself. |
